Cake is where my ideas started from. And like trees, ideas branch out and grow... and suddenly that small idea becomes, quite literally, bigger than the itty-bitty person the idea sprang from in the first place.
It started with diaper cakes. And while it’s not the edible kind or even something that comes to most people's minds when they think "cake", it was a pretty sweet idea. Boring and practical everyday items like diapers turned into something really exciting to look at... fantastic!
Then there were the cake truffles. Like popping a slice of cake in your mouth in one little bite. A wonderful substitute for your typical candy. Imagine these delectable treats instead of a store-bought box of Valentine’s Day chocolates. And they make fabulous party favors. And with cake pops becoming more and more popular, they were just the next step.
Was there a pattern starting to emerge? Maybe. Is everything here made of or related to cake? No. But everything here IS something that started as an idea... an idea of something a little out of the ordinary that I wanted to give to someone as a gift. Sometimes I don’t even need a reason. I just love the happy look on someone’s face when I’ve managed to make them feel special and loved.
Do I wish cake grew on trees? Who wouldn’t? Heck, I wouldn’t mind if ideas grew on trees! Then you could just go pick one when you were running low. But until I figure out how to make that work, I guess I can settle for growing more ideas here.
